|In March 2003, the United States of America, United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, Denmark, and 44 other nations were labeled "The Coalition of the Willing." Six years into the “War on Terror” and four years after the invasion of Iraq, the Iraqi people have been caught in the middle of a political and religious battle, with nowhere to run. Refugees scramble out of Iraq into neighboring Islamic countries unprepared for the influx. Meanwhile, most of Europe and the United States limit the entry of asylum seekers from the “War on Terror.”
In his first feature and documentary, director Walter Talens visits Sweden to understand the Swedish policy toward asylum seekers. Iraqi refugees, social workers, and government officials describe their personal experience with the rising illegal immigration, providing viewers an intimate glimpse into the circumstances that connect everyone together.
